A FIREFIGHTER'S PRAYER

GIVE ME CONCERN FOR OTHERS
A willingness to seek out those in need...
GIVE ME COURAGE
To boldness of spirit to face and conquer fear,
to share and endure the ordeal of one who needs me...
GIVE ME STRENGTH
Strength of heart, to bear whatever burden
might be placed upon me....and strength
of body to deliver to safety all those
placed within my care...
GIVE ME THE WISDOM TO LEAD
The compassion to comfort,
and love to serve unselfishly
wherever you take me...
AND PLEASE LORD, THROUGH IT ALL,
BE AT MY SIDE.
PRAYER OF A FIREFIGHTER'S WIFE
Lord, I can't help but worry
when I know what his day may hold.
Every time he puts that uniform on
I feel like saying,
"Don't go".

He chose to be a firefighter,
the love for his job I can't deny.
Still each time he's called to a fire,
I fear for his safety and life.

Help me put my faith in you,
each time he's called to a scene.
Remind me that it's you,
oh Lord,
who has control of all things.

FREMAN'S PRAYER
When I am called to duty, God
Wherever flames may rage;
Give me strength to save some life
Whatever be it's age.
Help me embrace a little child
Before it is too late;
Or save an older person from
The horrors of that fate.
Enable me to be alert
And hear the weakest shout,
And quickly and efficiently
To put the fire out.
I want to fill my calling and
To give the best in me;
To guard my every neighbor
And protect my property.
And if according to your will
I have to lose my life.
Please bless with your protecting hand
My children and my wife.

PRAYER FOR FIREMEN
Dearest Father in Heaven we humbly pray, keep our firemen safe today.
They who risk their lives for us, our prayers we do entrust.
These kind good souls face imminent dangers, saving people who are virtual strangers.
They never ask nor question why, they fight to save those who might otherwise die.
Oh gracious Father, we cherish these fearless hereos who fight.
We pray you shelter them with your heavenly light.
Be with them and help them as they do their best then, when duty's done,
give them peace and blessed rest.
Their lives are hard and full of stress, underpaid and oft forgotten.
Remind those who send them forth that their sacrifice is as one that you once begotten.
